Well, after 5 weeks of touring with Roy Fields it’s time to announce the venue for God TV’s coverage of the tour.
So, from 5 - 9 November we’ll be at Winchester Vineyard, Vineyard Centre, Bar End Road, Winchester, SO23 9NP. A Map can be found here. Meetings, and the live broadcasts, start at 19:30 each evening with doors at 18:30.
From a fact point of view this will be the first live programme on God TV after The US Election.
From a logistics point of view because of the limited numbers available in the venue if you want to get in you’ll probably need to be there at least one hour before the doors open.
Hi Everyone,
A new page has gone live on www.allthesethingsivedone.com it can be found here. An updated “About” page will be online soon.
Thanks.
Some of you will have heard about the revival currently taking place in the city of Lakeland, Florida. Well, I’m going. It’s been arranged fairly quickly but on Saturday I’ll be joining Joe Gisbey and Matt Ford on the flight to Tampa followed by a drive to Lakeland.
And I’m really excited I can’t wait. I’ve got quite a lot to do. The weather is about 30 degrees, so while I’m prepared for a English summer where it rains every third day I’m not prepared for proper sun. I need to get all the things that it would normal take me 6 weeks in 3 days.
After that? Well I’m off! Unusually on one of my trips I will be taking a laptop alongside a camera so that I can blog about it and from what I’ve read it seems that the city has free WiFi.
I think that it could be a really significant time for the three of us and I think Friendship, Faith and (Gods’) Fire will be in abundance. Following that time I’ll be heading off to the Ignite weekend away and I really want to see God move powerfully amongst the Young People so much so that we are prepared to drop our plans to wait on Him. Arun has already a taster of this and I think there is a hunger.

As you may have read from this post here I came home from Skegness via London to go for an interview at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB). Here are my thoughts and a kind of prayer request;
My interview had been arranged while I was at Spring Harvest, I’d originally put my CV in but not expected to hear anything. So, was a little shocked when I got a call in the first place with the final details been confirmed while I was away.
For, those of you who don’t know HTB is a large (2000 congregation) Church in central London with a sister church St. Paul’s in Onslow Square and I’d applied for a job in the Technology department. So no surprises there.
When I got there I found out that one interview was actually two. Round 1 was with the head of the technology department, and was exactly as I expected it, apart from the slightly more random question “Can you give ten examples of ways you’d protect a light switch?” Most creative answer to this in the comments will get a mention in a future post!
Round 2 was with someone from HR (Human Resources) and was a lot more random. Yes! That is possible. It seems that it’s very easy to be typecast in your own Church, but HTB were seeing me with fresh eyes. So things got quite random. I foolishly mentioned that I’m a TEFL teacher who enjoys youth work and, occasionally, preaching. And was asked “Have you thought about ordination?” Again, not perhaps something you expect at an interview.
So, where do things go from here? Well there is a a third round, that as I type now, I haven’t heard if I’m through to that. If I should get it, would I take it? Well, that entirely depends. It would be an amazing opportunity but in my heart I know there is much more I could do at Arun. This however could be a call, that perhaps I’m trying to ignore, from God. And perhaps I should be obedient to that.
So, there’s the update.
As you have probably realised your feed is now coming up with this odd new domain allthesethingsivedone.com I’ve transferred everything over to this without causing any interference to my readers, and hopefully over time I’ll get some new ones.
The site is split into two areas. The first is here, the blog. Here you’ll find my thoughts and journals. It may be tech related or it may be something deeper. The second is the Media Cast. I hesitate to call it a podcast or vodcast as it’s probably both plus more.
What you may be wondering is why the name. I’d love to give you a really deep, theological reason, but no matter how hard I try I can’t. In truth I was in the bath and “All These Things I’ve Done” by The Killers came into my mine and I thought it was just a really great name for a blog. It was only after I got out that I looked at the lyrics;
Over and out, last call for sin. While everyone’s lost, the battle is won with all these things I’ve done.
So, here it is. I have no plan and no expectations. Let the ride begin.

Hurrah! This site is less than a week old and already I’m pleased to announce the MediaCast is online. To subscribe directly in iTunes click here, while if you’d rather just visit the feed and download things on a casual basis click here.
Up there now you’ll find an interview I did with Delirious? lead singer Martin Smith about porverty, the social injustice bandwagon and CompassionArt. This can be downloaded in either the semi-skimmed iPod (and bandwidth) friendly format, or the glorious full fat 720p HD Apple TV format.
Also up online is a PDF containing the information I gave at Ignite for lent.
Just a few notes about the MediaCast. To view the video files you’ll need either iTunes or QuickTime. To open the PDF files you’ll need either Preview (Mac) or Adobe Reader (Mac/Windows).

I’ll quote from Arun Community Churches Folk and Fax.
“We are also very pleased to announce that we have appointed Dave Johnson to work part time for the Church. We are still working out exactly what hours Dave will be working, but he will be looking after and developing the technology side of things within what we do as a Church. This will particularly involve our Sunday mornings, ensuring that the practicalities run smoothly, a role that Sim and Steve have been attempting to do!”
So what does this practically mean? Well as it says the hours, and fine details of my role, are still being worked out but it’s likely I’ll be partially based in the Church office. When I’m not there I’ll still be working for Jim Bailey and doing my freelance bits.

Yesterday marked two years since Rosie and I started going out with each other and after some reflection, and lots of sleep, I want to declare them good. We’ve had many good times where we’ve laughed so much we’ve nearly cried, the random times where we’ve laughed so much we’ve nearly cried and the harder times where we’ve cried. Through it all we’ve grown closer and more together.
We’ve learnt a lot and have had good friends who have supported us. Of course, we’ve managed to change each other a little bit. I now like programs like Scrubs, 8 Simple Rules, Hope & Faith and Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. And Rosie? Well she now likes cars, technology and almost likes Macs as much as me. So only small changes really.
As Rosie put it on her blog…”I just think it’s really cool that we are as happy as ever and continue to have as much fun”
