God TV

Well, after 5 weeks of touring with Roy Fields it’s time to announce the venue for God TV’s coverage of the tour.

So, from 5 - 9 November we’ll be at Winchester Vineyard, Vineyard Centre, Bar End Road, Winchester, SO23 9NP. A Map can be found here. Meetings, and the live broadcasts, start at 19:30 each evening with doors at 18:30.

From a fact point of view this will be the first live programme on God TV after The US Election.

From a logistics point of view because of the limited numbers available in the venue if you want to get in you’ll probably need to be there at least one hour before the doors open.

Belfast Night 4

Hey everyone,

Just thought you may like to know two things:

1. The Elim Christian Centre are broadcasting the 2 meetings with Roy Fields live to the web and it can be found here.

2. I’ve embedded last nights directly into my website.

Travelling the UK

I’m five weeks into this tour and presently I’m sat in a coffee shop in central Belfast (see last known location) reflecting on all I’ve seen, done and chatted about with people.

When my blog morphed into it’s current generation I obviously had no idea that the tour was going to come up, I had no idea that instead of writing on a what I was doing locally I’d be writing about what I was doing across the whole UK and beyond.

Throughout this tour I’d be lost without my laptop, my phone, my Mobile Broadband adaper and camera. However more than that I’d be lost without my friends around the world who are cheering me on. I’d be lost without the guys on the tour. We’ve become quite a tight unit and are always looking out for each other.

It’s still an experience I wouldn’t change for the world.

October Tour Update

While I have a few days off, from tour that is, I thought I’d do some blog/website updates. Just to keep everyone in the loop here are the updated Roy Fields “We Are The Generation” tour dates:

Tonbridge, Kent: 17 - 19 October
The River Centre, TN9 1RE

Carryduff, Northern Ireland: 21 - 23 October
Carryduff Elim, BT8 8DQ

Belfast, Northern Ireland: 24- 26 October
Elim Christian Centre, BT15 3GJ

Belfast, Northern Ireland: 27 - 29 October
Ulster Temple, BT6 8GL

Dublin, Republic of Ireland: 30 - 31 October
Powerscourt House (Ballroom), Enniskery, Co. Wicklow

Live on God TV (Venue TBA): 5 - 9 November
I’ll post more details once it’s all been confirmed!

Further dates are likely to be added in the near future. It’s been amazing experience and I feel privileged that I can play a small part in this. There have been times when it feels really tough and all of us have faced dilemmas but at those times we’ve all pushed into God.

I am going to try my best, though I’m not promising anything, to update the blog on a venue by venue basis. Also I’m going to get some pictures up online so if you click on Photos you’ll see some galleries (though this may take some time).

Blessed beyond my dreams.

I appreciate the blog has, again, been very quiet. And for that I must apologise. As, most of, you know I’m currently on tour with American musical worship leader Roy Fields. It originally it shocked me, even though I was only asked to drive, these things just don’t happen to me. Yet here I am sat in the incredibly galmorous green room (which before you think it is actually glamorous I should telly you that it’s the van that’s happily carted myself and the 4 guys and gal up and down the beautiful island that is the United Kingdom) at Chorleywood.

And, so far I have only one conclusion - I’m blessed beyond my wildest dreams. I’m getting to share an amazing journey with some new friends. At times it’s been very very hard. At times I’ve got very low for a whole heap of reasons. But it’s been a journey and right now it’s one I don’t think I could be without. God’s teaching me a lot and maybe once I get home and have processed it fully I’ll post some post tour thoughts.

The blessing just seems to go on and on. This morning I got up and instead of having a morning off I went to serve my friends over at New Community Church and ended up playing guitar for band leader extodanaire Wing Commander Robins before rushing into Southampton to do some last minute prep for the follwoing weeks.

Who knows what the next few weeks hold. There could be extra dates that really complete the journey round the UK. Mind you, in a totally unrelated story I have now travelled the entirety most of the UK’s major road system!

Tour Updates

Hey everyone,

It’s been a bit hard to blog from the road as schedules are really tight and using a phone isn’t the ideal medium!

However, I just wanted to post quickly during a free couple of hours in Broxburn to encourage you to visit:

warrenkritko.com - Warren is Roy’s PA and has been keeping a small journal with loads of details containing a lot of tour facts and figures. Oh yes, and about a million photos!

runwithfire.com - This is Roy & Melanie’s ministry. Here you’ll find the latest journal, pictures and the current itinarary.

allthesethingsivedone.com - Yep, it’s my site! I may not be blogging but thanks too the miracle of GPS I am tracking my tour through Google maps. Just visit ‘Last Known Location’.

Hopefully come Chorleywood on Sunday/Monday I’ll be able to update the blog more often.

Tour Post Number 1

Well it’s just after 9am and I’m just about to start getting ready for the third scheduled stop on the “We Are The Generation Tour” which is in Bath. How’s it been so far? To answer that really briefly - hectic.

Here’s a quick run through of my last few days.

Saturday:
Arrive, provide my driving licence, and collect a splitter van from the Central Hall car pakr which required a 37 point turn(if you’ve never been is a triangle). Then drive from Southampton to Winchester and wait for the rest of the band. They then rehearsed while I made general tweaks to the mixing desk and rang Rosie. Pack up was completed by 7 and we were back at Central Hall for 7:45.

Sunday:
Wake up after really bad nights sleep I managed to get cramp in both my legs. D’Oh! Hobble round for a bit. Drink coffe for a bit. Go to Church where 24-7 are holding their international gathering. After Church it’s back to the van for the trip to Maidenhead via Guilford. Once we arrive “get in” seems to take longer than expected (possibly because of all the merch that we’re carrying) and this impacts on sound check time. Still it all gets done. About 750 turn up in the evening and 91 either commit or recommit their lives to God. By the time we’ve packed up it’s 11:30pm and we finally make it in by 1:30am

Monday:
Slept a lot better, though think it’s exhaustion. Today is the Central Hall event and we have plenty of time to be ready. I spend the morning virtually programming a desk for further along the tour which is going to save a lot of time that day. Once I arrive at Central Hall I start what seems the long hard process of setup - working out where monitor mixes will be, preparing mic stands, etc. The band appear over a two hour time frame and by 4pm everything is plugged in and ready to go. Sound Check takes 25 minutes and then they have some rehearsal time. Roy arrives just after 5pm and it takes a few minutes to get his IEM/Wedge mix sounding how he wants it - still with that done they go through a couple of songs and go and eat. The event starts and 7:30pm and there is a great atmosphere of praise and worship. Loads of people get prayed for loads of people commit or re-commit lives to God.
